Camenga Racing Ready for 2014 Season!
The 2014 racing season is rapidly approaching! It was a very busy off season as we put new bodies on both cars, and did a lot of little things. Our season began this weeked as Devon Camenga (left) had his car at the Rotterdam Square Mall show this past weekend where 71 cars packed the mall. Devon will be racing at Fonda Speedway on Saturday nights along with some special shows at Albany Saratoga Speedway, and Rolling Wheels Speedway. This will be Devon's first season in the pro stock division and will be going againts some of the best racers in the capital district a the "Track of Champions."
Dana Camenga (right) will once again battle the best of the best in the pro stock division at Utica Rome Speedway in Vernon, NY. With new skins, new front end along with a new Cummings motor, Dana looks to improve his finishes in the 2014 season. Dana is also planning on running some special shows at Rolling Wheels, and Fonda Speedway.
If that wasn't enough..... Our father (Wade) is a true lover of the sport of racing and is always looking for a new project to work on. So now that we have the cars all done, or close to being done, what next....how about we purchase another car! You got it....Camenga Racing has purchased another car, this make 4 cars in three years! We also purchased another trailer that is currently being redone. Call us crazy....we just love racing!!!!
We are currently working on a schedule for the season and hope to post it on our web calender. We would like to welcome VanDenburgh Architecture and Race Masters to our racing program.
The new year brought new ideas, and changes for the Camenga Racing program! Dana will be racing at Utica Rome Speedway in the pro stock division! We have purchased a car and will be here this weekend. In addition to our current sponsors, Dana will be racing for Dwarfism Awarness. Dwarfism is a skeletal desplasia that effects 1 in 10,000 children. There are over 200 different forms of dwarfism. Dana's nephew, Seamus Camenga, has achondroplasia which is the most common form of dwarfism. Most people are familiar with the term "Little People" as in the show, "Little People Big World." We are currently working on a design for the car, and it will be on display at the Motorsports Expo on March 10 in Syracuse.
Understand Dwarfism, an education program, provides literatre and speakers to local communities. LPA Mohawk Valley Chapter is Seamus' local chapter. The non for profit organiszation is currently raising money to host a LPA Regional in the Fall for nearly 5,000 people. Camenga Racing will be selling stickers, wrist bands, and t shirts for these two organizations at all special appearances, and at the track.
